Joe may be a former Division I All-American, National Champion and professional athlete, but that doesn’t even begin to define him...
What does define Joe is his desire to be the very best at everything he does and that translates directly to his work at HomeField.
From product development, to sales demos, to customer care, Joe handles the majority of our client facing operations, and he does it with 100% dedication. Consequently, HomeField has a devoted client base and a growing pipeline of new teams from around the country.
If you call Dan you’ll probably get his voicemail which says: “Hey, I’m probably writing code, so leave a message.”
What can we say? Dan is a producer. He wants to build things - be it cars, computers or web applications. At Brown University, that meant real-time interactive modeling software and afterward at Cisco that meant enterprise class distributed voice technology systems.
When it comes to HomeField, he’s architected the whole application from scratch. From our v1.0 in Google WebToolKit to our current v3.0 in Ruby on Rails, Dan has done a killer job, proven by all the teams that rely on HomeField daily.
Born of entrepreneurial parents, Reece was never one to accept the status quo. He never set out to be an entrepreneur, he just sees ways to make things better and has the drive to make it happen no matter what.
Reece refers to this quote as a favorite way to explain his view of the world:
…But he still thought it self-evident that one had to do what was right; he had never learned how people could want to do otherwise; he had learned only that they did. It still seemed simple and incomprehensible to him: simple that things should be right, and incomprehensible that they weren’t.
- Atlas Shrugged
Since Reece pitched the idea for HomeField to Dan back at Brown where they both played Division I lacrosse, he’s assumed the role of startup executive - leading the strategy and vision for what is becoming a truly great company.
Is there a doctor in the house? With Henry on board, the answer is yes. Sure, he got his Ph.D. in Physics from The City University of New York at the Institute of Ultrafast Spectroscopy and Lasers, but we don’t hold that against him.
While Henry is extremely accomplished academically, he’s been busy outside of the classroom competing in triathlons, tutoring high school students, and building web-applications like TweJay - an app that makes Twitter talk. Literally!
Henry jumped on board in June and has been committing code since day one. Primarily working with Dan on our technical development, Henry is no stranger to sports as a former nationally competitive collegiate rower at Colgate. In short, he gets it and he’s making HomeField stronger everyday.
HomeField is fortunate to have a stellar investor and ‘startup sherpa’ in Allen.
With experience as a lawyer at Latham & Watkins and Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati as well as a 10+ year career as a venture capitalist at the Mayfield Fund, Allen adds a ton of value to the HomeField team.
Allen’s done over 750 deals in his career and as he puts it “I’ve made every mistake there is to make in this business, so you don’t have to.” We love it
He also spent as much time at university as all of the founders combined with an undergraduate degree (summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa) from Dartmouth College, a second bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from Oxford University (Christ Church) and a J.D. from the University of Virginia.
