Engineer Wanted

“Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing left to add, but when there is nothing left to remove”. – Antoine de Saint-Exupery

HomeField, a Techstars NYC company, is looking for a lazy, hard worker who believes that less is more.  And that sometimes more is more.  After all, there’s no replacement for displacement.

Most startups are apparently filled with rockstars and ninjas.  Good for them.  We want a team captain who will start and finish the game.  Every game.  Win or lose.

The qualifications of a great prospect are:

  • Ruby v. 1.8.7
  • Rails v. 2.3.5
  • MySQL
  • Full front end skills needed

Why great prospects want to work with us:

  • You’ll be working with a great team.
  • You’ll have a chance to put your mark on a product being used by thousands of people
  • You’ll be tackling a unique, challenging, and widely applicable problem in a untapped market
  • You’ll be working on a product with loyal customers, paying real money, for true value
  • It’s a sports startup… who doesn’t like sports?

“Years of experience” don’t explain anything, so we don’t really care about them.  We care about results, so we’d like to see:

  1. Something you’ve built and are proud of
  2. Something you’ve built but are not so proud of, and how you need to improve it
  3. Something that distinguishes you from the other applicants

Please get in touch with Joe if you’re interested in being a new HomeField engineer.
